will c5 fx3 shocks fit c4?
My 1990 vert has selective ride with the yellow fx3 shocks. I have no issues with the system, but just saw a local ad on craigslist where someone is selling their c5 fx3 shocks for $60 each - they say they have 30k miles and in excellent shape and that they are 800 new each.
Thinking a spare or two might be a good idea in case mine do ever fail - will these fit my 90?
Thanks

I have no idea but maybe look them online and see if the same numbers come up for both cars. If so then they would fit I would think. If not, tread lightly as it would likely be different between them.

FX3 Selective Ride Control was specific to 89 to 95 C4's. The 96 had an optional first design of a Magnetic Ride Control and that design carried over to the C5 generation. With improvements, the C6 cars also had a similar option.
I would expect that the mounting setup for a C4 shock (stock or FX3) would be different from a C5. Shock length would be different as would the compression and rebound rates. Even how the entire system works with their own computers/processors will be different. So basically, the C5 Magnetic Ride shocks will not work as a replacement for the C4 FX3 shocks.
If you don't want to spend the money for adjustable shocks, go with a standard shock. You can get Bilsteins in a standard or "Sport" configuration. Some C4 owners have used KYB "Gas-A-Just" shocks that work well and are reasonably priced.

Your shocks are about $200 apiece and if they ever fail, Bilstein will warranty them

Drifting
C5 (i believe) is F45 "Real time Dampening" and not FX3, its a complete different system. started in 1996 and carried over into the C5's
