Default Out cruising

Finally been able to get this baby out on the road. very fun to drive. shaking with roof off sucks but I prefer it off anyway. I took it off and it hasn't been back on since.

Thanks. bought the car in November from MD. had to have it painted then a shitload of wet sanding. not great paint but okay for a weekend cruiser. bone stock except for C5 speedstar wheels. 69K mi.

Nice, try a targa brace it will stiffen the car back to normal for great handling and still open top.

Car looks great! There is some cowl shake in my 86 with the top off but it doesn't bother me at all. I love the feeling of driving the with the top off. As mentioned above a targa brace would eliminate the cowl shake but I prefer having the open roof!

Car looks great! Who did you have it painted by? And if you don't mind me asking, how much did it set you back? I'm over in the Philly area so if it was a decent deal I would like to investigate it.

Congrats to getting her out for a drive, nothing quite like driving em IMO

I had it painted by a shop in Pennsauken NJ. $1000 I did the wet sanding and buffing. I wouldnt recommend them. was really a bad job.. $1000 was cheap and I only paid 4100 for car so it works.

you just need a vent hatch now (canadian EZ Vent)...trust me it makes a huge difference when you roll with the targa off

To eliminate cowl shake on C4 coupes then go with the Vette 2 Vette brace. A bit pricey but the install allowed my 100,000 mi+ 91 to drive like a new car. This brace was engineered by Gordon Killebrew. Gordon is the C4 guru and wrote much of the C4 FSM.
There are naysayers but I believe most of them never used this product. Those that have installed the No Flex Brace swear by it (for the most part).

Mark970...Does having the hatch vented release the trapped air captured in the rear hatch area reducing the cowl shake? Just wondering...Phatphil

I drove my 94 last week for the 1st time without the top and did a 70 mile ride. I don't know what all the fuss is about the shaking. I did not experience any of it.

Here it is mounted on my 91. Easy installation with a floor jack and a couple of wrenches:
