Default A silly discovery on my 94

I know this is a waste of a post but I had to share. I discovered today that the door arm rest pops open and has a little compartment
I will admit when I popped it open I would find a key fob or in the least jimmy hoffa's where abouts.

I know this is a waste of a post but I had to share.
I bet there are others that don't realize the compartment is there, so not such a waste.
Nice find

I was probably just as suprised when I found them shortly after I bought mine. I usually stash a 20 dollar bill, spare pair of reading glasses and a razor knife in the driver's door. I don't care what the wife puts in hers though.

Amazing what you can find in the owners manual.

I think it was part of the changes made to the interior in 94.

It's ok, my wife discovered it before I did. Maybe a few months after buying the car.

Maybe a year after owning the car I also discovered there is a thing you can pull out to cover the inside of the coupe. Have no idea what it's called. But it's there I guess!

94 was the first year with a passenger air bag, so the door compartments were added to help offset the loss of the glovebox. 👍

That's right but many of us got ours minus some things including the owner's manual. Fortunately, I was able to download mine some time after purchase.

Since they are available even if you didn't get one with the car that is no excuse not to have one.

Another member mentioned having the car for a year before discovering the cargo shade, which is also listed in the owners manual.

Yeah that was me but who cares. I think I saw it online, was intrigued and pulled it out just to see. I put it back and realized I would never use it anyway. It wasn't a massive revelation that changed my life.

Whether it's true or not I have heard of someone owning a ZR1 for years and only drove it in valet mode and had no clue of the feature. Now that's a whole different level!

Reading is fundamental. I GOT ONE after I bought the car but it wasn't at the top of my list which included new tires, FSM, coolant hoses, etc. in order to make it safely driveable. Sheesh.

I found the door storage compartment on my 94 by accident. I hit the door with my elbow and felt the pad lift up. I thought I knocked the pad loose from the door so when I got home I looked into it and found the pad was hinged and the storage compartment inside. I ran into the previous owner one day and I hit the hatch switch on the door panel to open the hatch and he looked at me and said "I didn't know that switch was there". He owned the car for two years.

The second rear hatch switch was an early discovery I made. It's a great idea and really convenient. I was also in my garage and I noticed when I turn this thing on the steering column the dash lights up and the car makes loud noises. My garage started to smell and I got light headed so it turned it back the other way. Not sure what to make of it.

My '86 has the hatch release switch on both doors and a 3rd one inside the console.

they put in the armrest smuggling compartments on the last interior update 94-96. It was basically a way to get back some of the lost glove box storage space when they put in the passenger airbag in that spot.

I was hoping to find, drugs, $100 bills, or a firearm, but all I found was a gas receipt and a toothpick in mine.
