Probably not going to Believe this.
I am selling my 86 Vette. I need to pay off my ex wife on back child support, and I'm getting a motorcycle with the rest. I'll be getting a touring bike with trunk and armrests for the wife. Someday in the future i will own another but for now I need to sell it. I'm gonna ask 8k for it on craigslist and if it doesn't sell then this post was for nothing right? I won't take less than 7500.00 for the condition it is in.

I highly recommend you spend tomorrow taking very detailed pictures inside and out. Repost your ad. You can't sell it if someone can't see it. GLWS. Very nice C4

Price it to sell. End of summer is just around the corner and demand drops like a stone...in the northern climes anyway. Mid 80s automatics with over 80K on the clock aren't a hot item at any time.

Just because i bought it on the cheap doesn't mean it isn't worth more. Thats kind of what I do, buy cheap sell high and up until the 84 corvette it had worked well. I lost my @ss on that one. I have invested more money into it. 600 for tires, at least another 1000.00 in suspension components and I changed the oil and flushed the coolant when I got it and I changed the oil at 82000. I haven't been dishonest nor do I think I'm asking a unreasonable price. I will share MY complete history with the car and if it sells great. If it doesn't that's okay too. I don't necessarily want to sell it but I do have some more pressing debts and I did buy it hoping I could recoup some losses from the old one and get some things paid off. It really is a very nice/clean car.

To someone that wants a Car that you can just drive w/o fixing a bunch of things right off the mark I think 7-8k is VERY reasonable. If some of you think about what you paid for yours and what you put into them to get them where they are now I think you would probably agree. I think it's hilarious when I posted that I bought it post after post you guys lined right up 4500? heck you stole it..... what would have been a reasonable price? 5k? 6k? maybe even 7k? Ever hear of pricing high and negotiating with someone? I don't understand all the your asking too much comments. Seems kinda like tire kicking BS to me. I didn't post it in the classifieds because I'm not trying to sell it to you guys. I was just sharing something i was doing with the car with you. I guess I thought 8k was a good starting point.

What you paid is not relevant to what you sell it for. I once bought a house and got a good deal on it (sellers were motivated). When I went to sell it to potential buyers they checked what I paid and gave a really low offer to which I said no. Shortly after that they made a reasonable offer and bought the house. If the car is priced well it will sell, if it sits on the market for a while you know your price is too high.

good looking 86. Sorry for your problems. 8K is a good start and someone who buys it for less will be proud of the "deal" they made for themselves.. The very best of luck and don't be a stranger.

Hire a hot chick in a bikini to pose on the hood. Should sell in a day.

LOL i was thinking the same thing but wasn't going to post it. I like the ad 'I've driven it out west' (thinking thats just what i did in my red C4) but you've only put 3k miles on the car since owning it?
The ad states 'oil has been changed every 2k miles..........hmmmm you've only owned it for 3k mi!

On the good side though, it is a nice looking vette and he has done some work to it. Sorry to see you leave and join the scooter club.

Ya I would LOVE to keep the car, pay off the ex, and have a bike. But I have to be somewhat responsible. I DID buy the car hoping to sell it and make some money on it. I did price it so that if it sells great and if it doesn't at least I still have a Vette and I am trying to sell it. Obviously 6k is more of a buy it now price but I'm not in a hurry to sell it. Best case scenario someone buys it for my asking price. worse case scenario they don't and I still get to drive my car so it's a win win for me. Probably won't sell till next summer now anyway as we are getting towards the end of Summer here.

How about keeping up with your obligations to your kids.
And yet you have the money to spend on stuff you want.

Maybe pay support instead of buying the car in first place?
