Default TPiS Air Pump Delete failed

Has anyone used this kit and had it break within less than 30 days? I paid $175 for it and it snapped in half between the engine mount and the pulley today. Baffled as to why other than defective part or poor installation by a local garage. Looking for helpful answers on alternative parts or just replacing it with same part.

I bought mine back in the day from Breathless, seemed sturdy enough that it wouldnt break where yours is breaking. I do not know if they still make it.

Where did you get it from? Get another from TPIS and see. It's not like this could not be a fluke. Either that or the installed FUBARed the thing.

if you still have the air pump mounting bracket, make your own delete or have it made. I made mine and it is SOLID and I like the look better than that erector set. New belt is required, but length was fairly simple to determine.

Did you contact the seller? That would be my first step.

Thanks for responding. TPiS sent me a replacement bracket. If this one fails than I will have one made or use my old bracket and have it modified. Hopeful.

Yes and they sent me a new bracket. They were surprised by the break and said they had not seen it break before. Shipping costs only so not a bad solution.

Great idea if the replacement bracket fails. Still have the original parts which frankly looked better. How do you keep your engine so clean, steam cleaning?

Had to wonder if it was installed poorly, hope not on the replacement bracket as this is simple stuff to install. We shall see what happens next. May decide to have a titanium bracket made if it breaks again.

Any suggestions on fixing a timing chain cover gasket anti-freeze leak that developed after replacing the radiator and flushing the engine would be appreciated. New low fluid level sensor like the original goes on even when the radiator was full. Hmmm?

The timing cover will leak oil, not antifreeze.

Make sure the bracket is installed in the proper order. If the new one isn't aligned properly it will break too. Look at the instruction sheet closely as to the proper order the 3 parts are assembled.

..... Mine is from Breathless Performance and has to be 12 years old ... solid aluminum bars ... no holes or slots for "weight saving" to weaken the brackets so they can break where yours did ... the 2 smaller holes to the left of the pulley momentarily held my adjustable fuel pressure regulator until I decided that I didn't like the idea of a fuel source just above my alternator .....

..... Anti-freeze in that area is usually from the weep hole on the bottom of the water pump ... time for a new one .....

This is the one I've had on my car for 15+ years without any issues. I guess the only thing I don't like is that the black finish has purpled a bit over the years.
