StreetSport Targa Top
Anyone?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you own a C4 Corvette Coupe ?? If so , you are well aware of what a struggle it is to remove and install the removable roof panel . I have owned several Corvettes over the last 20 years – my current and previous both being C4’s . I also owned C3 coupes that had “T-Tops” .
It makes you wonder what the heck GM was thinking when they abandoned the easy-to-use T-Tops in favor of this hulking , heavy , single panel roof which requires a rachet wrench to remove or install .

Sorry....the idea is somewhat interesting, but the snaps going around the edge make it look like something I would install over a truck bed. Velcro attachment maybe? And the louvers don't add much to the looks either. But that's only my opinion.

But think about it. Nice summers day and that HEAVY targa top sitting in the back taking up all the rear cargo area! I think this could be an ideal solution for carrying stuff and last minute rain protection.

A few C4 Corvette part suppliers already have tops similar to this except no visible snaps. They are advertised in their parts order magazines. One you can drive with and another that can only be used while the car isn't moving. I've seen one in person and wasn't impressed. The visible snaps, in my opinion, are a bad idea.

The picture looks like it has a sag in it. Would like to see a video of this going down the road at 60 or 70.
Would have expected aluminum rather than pine header panels.

Looks like something you would see on a boat. If the idea of removing the roof is a pain then A leave it on or B you bought the wrong car

I love the idea, just not the execution. How do those buttons work when you want to put the roof back on? Are you able to drive at highway speeds with that roof? Why are they silver versus black?
I understand the market for the roof, I would buy one if I could drive with it. However, it can't look like a tonneau cover for a pick up. Hell, now a days, they look much better than this.

Not on my vette. I had the targa off yesterday for a short trip. Temps are starting to favor open top driving. It's just not that hard to work with. Wrenching is my life with these cars anyway.
If you've got the coin to pay someone else to wrench, just have Jeeves remove the top for you.
And those side louvers are just senseless. Louvers should block sunlight. Oops. You missed a spot. Only thing those nicely made but useless panels would block is my cars fantastic rear visibility.
Fortunately, they're not available.
