Who had their c4 go 200MPH ?
Just want to know who has gone 200, or the fastest speed in a c4.
I'm also not advocating breaking laws, I'm just asking for for the numbers, location is not important. Mods list or HP would be cool though.

Safety Car
My buddy was doing 160 on night after he was passed by a Lotus. He didn't know what it was so he tried to catch it. It sped up, he sped up. Repeat over and over until he caught it, saw it was a Lotus, he was doing 160 and the front end was vibrating.
Seeing as it is a 1990 that is getting a bit long in the tooth, I chewed his a** out for taking chances like that. Something can break.
Someone would have to have the software speed governor removed/modified as aren't these cars limited in the ECM ?

But, if you have a 'C4 coupe it's going to take about 550 chp to hit 200...which ever way you chose to get there.

My ZR-1 saw around 140ish once. My current 86 saw 120 a few weeks back, which made me drive straight to Big O for a Road Force balance of my wheels/tires... I know were talking C4's, but my 02 Z06 saw near 150... That was a bit unnerving..

Since everyone else seems to be ignoring the original question to talk about their personal accomplishment I'll join LoL
I've had my stock 92 6spd up to 154, 5th gear redline. I grabbed 6th, but because I live at high altitude (less power) the car started to slow down. I believe the factory claimed top speed for that year was 162.

Would take more than I could afford thats for sure!! Caught a strong sidewind gust at 158 that cured me of the top speed bug...1-120quick is good enough.
Think a few guys here (or at least in the ZR1 section) have done it most are built 415s over 600hp

I've seen 255 on the speedo of my c4. However it was sitting still at a light and was a poor electrical connection issue, lol.

Neither of the stock C4's could do it, made it to 172 in a C5.
If an adrenalin rush is required try + 190 on 2 wheels a Suzuki Hayabusa will do it
with a chip. Wanted 200 indicated but my boys are not big enough

Top speed is in 5th gear. 6th is for fuel economy.
I went 160 once in my C6. It would go much faster (probably just about the 186 that GM claimed) but I didn't want to consume the time/space that would have been required for that last 26 mph. I went up to 160 quick. Then for yuk-yuks, I shifted to 6th to see if it would "hold" at that speed (26 mph below it's top speed), and it did. Then I checked my gas mileage and it was getting 9 mpg @160 mph. Then I let off and I couldn't believe how quickly the car lost velocity just from aero drag! That was my entire "top speed career".
HERE is the guy from the ZR-1 section that has gone over 200

The LT-4 was tested in 1996 by Car and Driver and went 169mph on an unlimited road.
I had mine up to 145 once. That's where I ran out of courage.
