Default 1988 Barn Vette

Posted earlier but someone asked for the story and more pics. I just pulled this 88 4x3 out of a barn where it had been under a cover for 15 years. My dad bought the Vette in 98 with 65k on it. The fellow he purchased it from was a very wealthy business associate who collected cars and had way too much money. The front end was wrecked in 02 and and the original spoiler couldn't be replaced but I'm pretty sure it came from the factory with the body kit already on it. He parked it as soon as he got it back and that's where it's been since then. The sending unit was rusted out so I'm in the process of cleaning out the tank and replacing that and we'll see what happens after that.

Also... Does anybody have any info on the 4 slot side panels. I googled for a while last night and couldn't even find a picture of another car that had it.

Possible, I see "1AZ - Modification stock order or order sold" in your RPO's but not really sure what that RPO means. I have seen that body kit before although I don't think it was a standard body kit order from GM...wonder if it was redirected to an approved vendor or something before being sold?

Looking forward to seeing more of the car when you get her running. Bummer about the cell antenna though...weird place to put it...looks like they may have drilled through the glass and C4 windshields are not easy to replace now a days, although without a hatch, guess that was the best option.

Is that the new Apple iPhone you have in the car ....

It looks like an aftermarket body kit. Here's an article about it in Super Chevy magazine.

and based on the RPO of "1AZ - Modification stock order or order sold" looks like the OP might have a rare vette that was sanctioned by GM.

I did find this similar one online
https://www.mecum.com/lots/BG0610-94...orvette-coupe/

10051200 Body Kit-IMSA/GTO Factory Aero Kit (Available from your Chevrolet dealers in limited quantities) - only available in 1988
Too bad the author of the article didn't research more as too how many of those kits were sold, would be awesome to know!

I had several cars that had mounted "mobile" cell phones. All the antennas were stuck on the outside of the glass with an antenna piece stuck on the inside. No holes in the glass. Should pull right off.
