I just bought a 90 ZR1 w/24k on it. Seat belt looks new but I can't get it to extract all the time. I moves an inch or 2 but stops like when you pull it too fast. I have been able to get it extracted a few times but mostly it is stuck.


Question: Is there any way to open one of these up to fix what it causing it to lock up? Anyone have an idea what is causing it to lock up?


Normally I would just buy a used one but being gray, most I have seen used are all dirty and stuff, mine has 24k on it.

Mine did that. There was something inside I lubricated to make it work again.

A little bar I think? (I've slept since then.)

You may have to take the seat out to get the cover off of it. But yeah, it did the same thing and works perfect now.

I bet you can lubricate it and fix it.

I remember I took the seat out. Took the cover off and it was fairly obvious.

I think there was a spring there. It's been over a year, but I think I just pulled on it and it was obvious.

It was the PS belt, so it probably didn't get as much use and it would come out a little ways and just lock up. And that fixed it.

I'll pull it part and look. Driver side so my guess a a dime or something in there.
