It's funny...what so many take for granted today in sports cars was a first on the C4.

Totally. People have forgotten/don't realize how ground breaking the car was in it's context (time).

I saw this review last night too, and the review's perspective on what the car did and features it had for the time is some what of an eye opener reminder. Too wit: My '06 had keyless/proximity locking...my friends thought that was pretty "posh" and advanced for the time (in '06). The C4 had that tech more than 20 years earlier.

Indeed, and wit more power and a few other tweaks it can still embarrass cars 30 years its junior. 1 lateral G seemed beyond physics!

I guess Chevy saved the squeaks and rattles for the area behind the "clamshell hood, that "eliminates squeaks and rattles"! Easy to solve with a radical cam and Flowmasters!

My....how young the hosts and Goss were.....and the 84 Vette was....

I was 16 years old then.....was a little out of my reach then....
Hard to imagine that a 72 Nova I was driving then would fetch more than 84 Vette now........ There is no way you could have convinced anyone that would be the future back in 84.....

The only downside for me.....being a native to the greater St. Louis region was the move from St. Louis to Bowling Green assembly plants for this "new model."

Great video.....I have always appreciated the milestones the C4 brought to the Corvette model. Be proud all......you are driving a piece of American Sports Car history.....don't let the market conditions bring you down.... the 84 brought the Vette comparable with the best European cars out there for half the price and the return of the manual tranny.....couldn't get a manual in 82!

Love that Motorweek video of the 84 Corvette (and all of their other Motorweek Retro clips). They were clearly big fans of the Corvette.

Also check out these 1984 Corvette Demonstration Videos. Not sure when these would have been played (sales training?) The wheels on the red car look like they're from the 83 prototype models?

Yup, but I didn't want to be the first one to admit that

I have considered driving gloves ever since seeing the video for the first time several years ago.. but 1) they are kind of expensive and 2) seems entirely unnecessary. But I think they are a little bit
