Mice got into the car, chewed up vacuum lines
1984 C4 Corvette Stock. like the title says " mice chewed up the lines coming off the climate control. Ac does not work anymore, horn does not work. I removed the radio, climate control panel, center console etc....
It is the manual type with slider temp control and slider selector with **** for fan speed control.
There are several hollow lines of different colors (red, pink, that have been destroyed by the little rats. Is there a resource where I can get replacement parts for the damaged lines? I haven't found anything with that small of an inside diameter (about the size of an uncooked spaghetti noodle, angel hair pasta)
Thanks for any input!

There is a good chance the rodents will try and come back. We have some tips for keeping rats out of your car on the More Help section of our website: Rid-a-rat.com
Make sure to clean the area with rodent activity with an enzyme based deodorizer. Rats will mark where they've been and the scent acts as a billboard to other rodents to come on by. Wal-mart carries something called Purple Power that works pretty well, otherwise a pet enzyme deodorizer is the way to go.
Hope this helps!

I just throw a few Dollar Store bags of mothballs next to each tire and on top the engine while in storage.

fyi......I keep mouse (in your case rat) traps loaded and ready to trap (peanut butter works great) at all times in my garage; especially in the winter......I check them every once and awhile to change out......they cost less than the food and/or vet bills for a cat. Sometimes I even put the traps outside the garage to get them before entering. I hear too many stories of rodent damage to auto wiring and other damage to cars.

HD sells TomCat mouse poison. They have it in brick form and I put several under each car on a paper plate along with one under the hood. Never had a problem with mice so far and don't ever want that issue.

one thing for sure they all get in at about the same place...leave a stash in the "rain groove" but I still haven't seen the actual entrance to this place on the left hatch where they seem to leave nuts and crap important to them. Then after only 2 or 3 days in my new shelter logic tent garage I noticed the acorns, the shredded paper by the rear cargo net, about 50 pops on the winter floor matts up front.
. I drive the car often. While installing my car stereo one ran past me and startled me...hate to admit that.
I bought traps and "attractant" in a small bottle but the attractant doesn't work at all. Going to get peanut butter.
Isn't there a way to put some screening over this very inviting entry point that mice seem to find in all of our cars? I know they will almost always find a way but I'd like to at least close off the most tempting entry point(s) or place deterrents.
Where exactly do they get in? (if anyone knows.)
