I either freshen up my heads or motor every year. I always retighten my header bolts after a run or two and never had to use the locking bolts. The newer oem style header gaskets don’t need to be retightened but the multilayer metal sandwich gaskets (felpro) should be retughtened. Even if the felpro type gaskets are used with locking bolts, they will leak if not retightened.

Received my Melrose header parts. Just a quick pick. Rest of the parts are still in the shipping box.

That's what I thought too. But I'll stick'em in and give the DEQ sniffer a try. Hopefully there being two of them for the system the car will test okay. My tuner guy says he'll be able to DEQ tune the car. Just wish I could get them in right away. My wife was in the hospital for two days. Just got home this afternoon. So tired it felt like a lot of work just unpacking the headers to take a picture.

Your tuner sounds like he knows what he is doing, hopefully it all works out.

Melting Slicks
I've had my headers on and off several times. The first time I put them on it was a real pain, after I learned how to mauver them it wasn't bad at all.
On my car I put the passengers side header is raised into place from the bottom and the drivers side one was lowered into place from the top. Biggest issue I always have is getting the driver's side header past the steering linkage/rod. But with some fiddling it drops into place. Best of luck, take your time and don't get frustered.
