I do not know. I bet the supplier changes with the lowest bid. PPG paint products IMHO is a great system. I have used several different paint companies over the years. Just buy the top line products in any brand and it should be fine. Good luck with you car.

I would think either PPG or DuPont. I would suspect that GM could have "contracts" for paint (lasting for specific intervals). Obviously, you're asking about a 2010 paint. I'm fairly sure DuPont was the "vendor" for early Corvettes but it may have changed to PPG later.

One thing I observed locally is that PPG seemed to hold petroleum-based footholds longer than other vendors. Of course, most are water-based paints now.

No matter the shop/vendor, they have formulas to match most colors. And, if they don't, they usually have a local source that can scan/match. Plus, a good painter can hone if from that starting point.

I don't think it would sell very many Corvettes. The ones they did sell would take a beating on resale value. Many of the people that bought them would probably figure our how bad they look after it is too late.

But everyone has an opinion.

1) Outside vendor, .......2) use and outside vendor,........ 3) subcontract the matte finish to an outside vendor.

4) Out source the panels to be painted in SATIN matte by an ouside vendor.

GM used an outside vendor for the LT-5 engine using mercury marine. This way no capital outlay for them. Outside vendor ships the panels to them pre-painted, they get installed, GM charges $3500 and makes $1000 per car profit and the people who want matte paint can have it as an OEM window sticker factory option adding collectable value. .

Hyundai offers it on their cars, surely GM can offer it.

Who cares if most people think it looks like pimer ?

Who cares if it is difficult to maintain and repair. Thats Not GM's problem.

Please, please, NO debates, thanks
