I liked the idea of the 6 inch rod with the 383, that's why I was considering them.

I looked at them long ago and was talked out of it by more experienced racers.

I was looking at their engine that would get over 700hp with supercharger when I bought my 93 especially since it already has the supercharger on it. But I don't know if I want to spend the money now.

I looked at what they offer as replacements for the C4/LT-1...In my opinion you get a lot of "Bang for the Buck".

That's pretty much what I was thinking. I don't know what the terms of the "unlimited mileage", limited warranty are, but I like the way it sounds.

Not as high quality as led to believe, had to have rebuilt fairly soon.

I looked at them 10 years ago but couldn't afford the total turn key cost ..... but now that I've just had my "built" trans rebuilt and I'm replacing the dana 36 with a Dana 44 .. it might just be time for the old man to spring for a retirement present

Oh I am very serious about researching what I need to do to give my motor the performance I seek. So, how would Golen engine blocks serve me in a future build?

I don't think it would unless your going to use a crank with a 3.75 in stoke. Plus, I don't think they sell blocks, just engine assemblies. Curiously enough, the 400hp/460tq rated version of the engine they build would perform exactly like you want. It even gets good fuel mileage, but runs on gasoline.

So it's a simple solution to an originally-stated need. But that won't be acceptable to him, because...reasons. He can do better by building a 52-inch-runner intake out of paper mache, a block with 4" bore and 1" stroke, and using unicorn **** as fuel.

If you call or email them and run them around in circles like you do us, I'm pretty sure they WON'T!

If it runs on gasoline, it will run on Iso-Butanol. I don't hear of any problems with guys using racing alcohol fuel with their builds, so how is my alcohol fuel any different? It isn't.

I am not "running circles" around you guys but I am exploring my options. Yes, it is a badge of honor and self-esteem booster to have horsepower numbers to brag about. The only way I know of how to achieve this is to sacrifice fuel economy. My car is only a daily driver and I certainly don't drive spirited enough to make use of high RPM power production. So, in my mind, it makes logical sense to look to the past and build "backwards" to give me what I seek!

So, explain to me how a 400hp/460tq Golen engine would satisfy my requirement for at least 15 mpg city. Furthermore, where is this torque and horsepower being built?

If you add some chupacabra saliva to it you will get even more power and better mileage.

Yes, in your mind a lot of things are backward. But you're right, it is common knowledge that old, backward-*** technology holds the key to high efficiency in internal combustion engines.

So, explain to me how a 400hp/460tq Golen engine would satisfy my requirement for at least 15 mpg city.
Explain to us how it won't.

In the garages of people who spend their time making cool cars instead of trolling multiple internet forums.

PS - pologreen1, this is all your fault!

It probably won't; it doesn't have the chopped up TPI intake on it, and it has a 3.75" stroke that a bunch of us recommended to you, but you don't want, for inane reasons.

Totally.

BUT, what you'll get is some horse **** about "snow traction", and too much power to control, so it will accelerate too fast.
