LT4 vs LT1 Performance Numbers
Does anyone know how much faster a LT4 is over a LT1? 0-60mph, 1/4 mile, and top speed? From my research, it does not appear to be that much more, except at the top end.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Only when you take both to redline will the difference be noticeable....and not many of us take our cars to redline on a daily basis.
Both the MN6/LT1 and the MN6/LT4 pull just as hard up until about 5700rpm.
That's been my experience, anyway.

Excuse me. I was a Forum member for many years who sold his last Corvette more than three years ago during a divorce. Upon returning this year, I just wanted to initiate a simple conversation about these particular motors, since I had bought a 96 model. I know how to research these motors, but I just wanted to have a friendly conversation again with other C4 enthusiasts. Its been more than twenty years and I was curious about long term performance.
Many times in the past here I would see the same comments from newer folks. No need to get mad at them. In the future, please ignore my stupid posts.
Have a good day.

In everyday driving, I cannot feel the difference.

There seems to be disagreement about this. Some say you will feel the difference and others say you will not.
I agree that the dyno sheets show very little difference until the higher rpm and that lower rpm street driving should not see a difference.
However, I have a '95 LT1 6m and a "96 LT4 6M and there is a noticeable difference in normal driving. On my cars the LT4 pulls stronger. Although I like to run them, I usually only go up to about 5k in normal street driving.
I guess the best answer for you is to try driving a couple and make your own conclusions.
Edit:
Since C5's were brought up...
I also have a '99 6M with a few minor mods. The C5's are very different cars. They are nice too, but driving them doesn't feel the same as the C4's. I enjoy trading off between them.
My LT4 is as quick as my LS1.
Again, drive a couple and see if they are right for you.

I don't see why an LT4 C4 would be faster than a manual C5. stock vs. stock. Curb weight and rear gear ratio is almost identical. 3.45 330hp vs 3.42 345hp. I think it would come down to who is the better driver.
Although I know on the 97-00 cars, a manual C5 is about 1/2 second faster running a 1/4 mile than an auto. So an LT4 is probably faster than an auto 97-00 C5.

This has been discussed A LOT. Based on many who actually raced both cars in San Diego during 1997.
A race between an M6 LT4 and an M6 LS1 was a drivers race.
A winner between the LT5 and LS6 was the LS6.
Never saw a race between an LT4 and an automatic LS1 C5.
in 1998 I raced my 92 with a brand new 98 Z28 LS1 and he spanked me three times back-to-back-to back. I never had a chance.
