Mine: 1988 white Convertible, black vinyl top. Black and sandstone int. 105k.Paid 5k ffor the car, put in abt. $1500 into it, new carpet, incidentals like re-Bose-ing. That required repairing the Bose wiring, (easy), having the amps renewed, purchase used Bose Delco radio, the list goes on and will continue to do so.
So my main contribution to this thread is, the C4 are my favorite. They appeal to baby boomers like me especially because of the time period when they arrived. And they are very do-able cars, parts are available and not too pricey, and really mostly because of the clean, understated styling. I could go on and on but the dash is one of my favorite parts of the car. I had to convert mine back to breadbox, the way it should be. That is a signature detail of the early C4's. When people replace it with a flat panel it makes the dash look like a Cadillac Seville of 1980-1985. Nothing wrong with Sevilles but ...
I also removed and threw in the trash a pair of loud upswept chrome pipes and put on some Walker SoundFX. Much better!

I get more comments/compliments on my 94 C4 vs my 03Z, the wife and mistress BOTH prefer the C4 when we go on dates (just not at the same time)

The paint on my 86 isn't that great to be honest. It shines up nice though and since the color isn't very common, I do get compliments on the car still and honestly it makes me feel good when I get the compliments. When I bring it to work, it draws a crowd around it and people always seem to love the clam shell designed hood. It isn't the nicest Vette that I've owned but I love the car the same and love driving it!

Thank you!! The car looks great in pictures, it really does. This is what attracted me to the car when I went to look at it in the spring of 2017. It looked great and the price was right. The issues I have are a faded top section on the rear bumper, chipping paint chunks by the headlights, and now I have a small bubble in the paint on the right side hood seam where it meets the body line by the bumper. Its great driver quality paint and if it ever gets scuffed, I won't be terribly upset.

what's wrong? Don't they like sitting on each other's lap?

It def gets a lot of attention and with the young crowd too. Maybe it's because they haven't been brainwashed yet by some of the other corvette generation(s) corvette owners...
