Default Some new bling for the Vette

FedEx just delivered this today. I was able to get this for not much more than the powder coating would have cost me locally. It will fit right in, continuing on with the white, red and black color scheme of my car.

I will probably port match it to the gaskets, but the "as cast" ports look really uniform in size.

thanks ! it should fit in with the other stuff I have done. somewhere down the road I am thinking about getting new valve covers, i haven't decided red or natural, natural with red letters is what I had on the '65

but the valve covers might be just a bit "over the top" and the money can best be spent on performance parts.

I purchased the intake for $118.00 delivered to my door.

Intake looks fantastic.

Those valve covers are sweet looking too...on a mid year. I think they look out of place on a later/EFI car.

that is why I thought they might be a bit over the top. I might simply get a set of the old ones, and hang them out on the wall of garage.

regardless, i am buying performance parts first

Nice!

A dumb question, do LT4 intakes flow better than the LT1 intakes?

Just making sure you caught on, that is a LT1 manifold that is powder coated. Around here it would have cost almost as much to have my existing one done.

To answer your question, the book(s) I have so no. The ports have been arranged/moved to correspond to the difference in the LT4 head ports, but there is no difference in the flow from the actual manifolds themselves.

Assuming they fit properly, I wonder how those valve covers shown would seal and for how long? With only the 2 bolt holes, I would suspect they have a high potential for leaking over time.

I thought the same thing, perhaps with extreme care and the right tools you could measure and drill the others assuming everything would line up.

Here read about them. They say because they are so thick, there won't be an issue
