Put on a 1000 summer miles then put it away for next year. You'll be surprised what will happen as you get old. It becomes part of your life for the next generation to enjoy.

Thank you all for the nice comments. I am extremely happy with the car, and very lucky to own it as I acquired it for a fair price. Since I already have a '90 C4 that is the polar opposite of the '89, I plan to preserve this one for the occasional special drive.
For now, I would like to detail it and possibly flush the brake fluid. The Bose amps also need work (what a surprise) but I am afraid to even touch this thing.... It's just so clean. Everything else on it is just perfect.

If he loads the miles on the new acquisition, in the end he'll have two also ran C4s rather than one the next generation will appreciate what it is, not what it was. I guess I'm just an eccentric, nostalgic old man.

Nice find. I like the wheels. Change those old tires. I had a mustang with 10 year old tires on it but had perfect tread. But one of them came apart from the inside on me while driving. Lucky not to have an accident.

I am crossed on this. I see both sides. In my business I see a lot of people come and go in the world, so the finality of living is very apparent to me. We are here but a short time, and time is the one thing that is limited. I used to collect fine vintage liquors. I came to the realization that I was gonna die and somebody else was gonna drink my liquor. Now I drink fine vintage liquor.....conservation vs consumption is a tricky thing to navigate.......
