So I just bought my 2nd C4. She's a '93 Convertible with a 6 spd. I couldn't get any background information about the car as the car came into a dealership on trade and was passed on to a smaller dealership to sell. How can I find out what options the car came with (particularly what brake package and rear gear ratio does the car have), as well as any possible upgrades that may have been done. Looking under the hood, everything looks to be in unmolested stock condition, but looks can be deceiving (rocker arms and cam would not change to look under the hood). Are there any tell tale signs I could look for as far as possible upgrades/sidegrades that may have been done? I'd post pics of under the hood, but the car has about 8 inches of snow on it.

(Attempting to avoid being obtuse) Unless upgrades/modifications were documented OR visibly obvious, without doing your own physical investigation (e.g., inspecting and measuring etc., "Eureka!".) the answer to your question lies with the previous owner(s), no?

Open the hood and if you've all OE part#'d hoses I'd suspect 'nothing' likely's been done. Now if the date codes don't seem to match production then it's a maybe.
I would suggest that you order the window sticker and build sheet from the National Corvette Museum. Go to the NCM website and go to the bottom of that page and click on the"Become a Member button (near the bottom on the left). The NCM dues are fully tax deductible in 2018 as a charitable contribution.
Once you become a member you can then order the build sheet and window sticker at the member price. The window sticker will show the base price of the car, all of the options that were ordered with it, the cost of the options, and the final MSRP. It will also have the name of the selling dealer.
The build sheet is what follows the car down the assembly line. The 3-digit RPO codes will be listed along with codes for the various parts/components installed.
Any parts installed by a previous owner can be difficult to track. Did you get and sort of records or receipts with the car that a prior owner may have kept?

There were no records that came with the car, and the car is completely cleaned out.

A vert with the stock wheels probably has no performance modifications. I say "probably".
It does appear to have the factory sport seats....but they also appear to have been re-covered in vinyl rather than the original leather.
You're probably right about the modifications. As for the seats, it does have the sport seats. They do need work. The motors in them don't move them, but the motors work. I'm guessing the gears are stripped, but won't know for sure until I can start working on it. I do want to say they are covered in leather and not vinyl though. I'll confirm that Monday when the snow melts away. Right now there's too much snow and it's too damn cold to mess with it.

Here's where I'm "at" on this one...If it's got:
*Stock Exhaust, muffs and tail pipes
*Stock exhaust manifolds
*Stock rockers (look through the oil fill hole)
*Stock air inlet (filter/bridge/TB)
...then it's very probably stock. That is how I assessed that my '92 was stock...then I confirmed it w/drag track ET's and a few dyno pulls. It's stock.
If the motors run and don't move the seats Yes, the seats gears/trans are probably shot. It pretty common in the C4's and you can find them on e-bay and other parts suppliers. Out of the two '92 C4's I have now. One's a vert and one's a coupe and one having sportseats and the other having regular powers seats. I've had to replace three seat track assemblies at around $200 a pop. But you can find them on e-bay cheaper if you look around. The good part It's an easy fix.

If the seat motors run and the seats don't move yes, it's probably the seat track assembly problem. Its a very common problem on the C4's.
On the two C4's I have (one with power sports seats and the other having the regular power seats) I've had to overtime had to replace three out of the four. You can get them at most Corvette suppliers or keep checking e-bay and they pop up there cheaper.
The good news it a really easy fix!
Standard brakes, J55 would've been the factory upgrade. All 6-speeds only came with 3.45 rear
Yeah, I did some google searching after posting the codes here. Aside from it being a convertible Corvette with sport seats, there's nothing really special about it from the factory.
