Default SURVEY-Hazard Flasher Warning Lights Operation

At a recent car show it was noticed that the Hazard Flasher Warning Lights were operating in two different ways. The first operation was when the Hazard Flasher Warning Lights were on and the brake pedal was depressed the Hazard Flasher Warning System was over ridden and the steady brake pedal light came on. The back lights were no longer flashing.
The second operation was when the Hazard Flasher Warning Lights were on and the brake pedal was depressed the Hazard Flasher Lights continued to flash.
The first instance (flashers off) was on a 1990 ZR1 and the second instance (flashers on) were on a 1992, 1995 and a 1996.
Was the 1990 ZR1 system working correctly or not? What I am asking is any member who can help out by testing their Hazard Flasher Warning Light system. What I need is simple-did they go off or did they stay on when the brake pedal is engaged.
Also what I need is your year or build date. This is for my personal use.
Thanks in advance and if you want you can PM with your response.

On my 1990 ZR-1, the flasher continues even if the brake pedal is depressed. So, "flashers on"

Full disclosure -- the Vette wasn't running, and I do have LED taillights (I don't think either condition would make a difference)

Ah, I didn't check that. I was looking at the reflection in the garage to verify the tail lights still flashed.

84 overrides if it matters. No third light. If you have to stop with them on quick which would you rather? I think as electronics got more advanced the third brake light was easily engaged while the directionals remained on... Just my thoughts.

92 Coupe. Hazards on, brake pedal depressed results in bumper lights still flashing CHMSL on steady.

Consistent with the wiring diagram. The CHMSL runs through a separate set of contacts in the brake light switch.
