Looking at buying a C4, Police Interceptor?
Im looking at a 93 Corvette 40th. It looks very clean and has approx 90k on it. The questions I have are;
Was there really an interceptor edition or did someone stick a crown Vic badge on it?
Is there any common issues I should check for?
What would a very clean Corvette Iike this be worth?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Corvette made no "Interceptor" models; that's a stick-on badge put there by some someone with either a warped sense of humor or no taste whatsoever. (the exhaust tips make me lean towards the later)
The car's value would depend a great deal on the transmission and the interior's condition, neither of which we know a great deal about at this point.

Much would depend on how the car runs and drives. The front wheels are either swapped sides OR there's an odd wheel on the car. L/R is correct rotation, check the right side.
There should be a SPID label on the back-side console door. Take a snapshot of that label and post it. Options that it was 'built with' might help determining value. GOOGLE - "GM SPID label" if you're not familiar with the acronym.
That particular car looks to need an evaluation by someone very familiar with the LT1 and whatever the balance of the drive-train might be.
Where are you & the car located?

No they didnt build that. Possible that some police dept seized it in a drug raid and used it as an undercover interceptor, more likely some moron just stuck it on the back.

I'd ****** that thing up in a heartbeat! How could anyone pass on it?? It's got:
*Cop motor; a 350 cu in 'plant
*Cop tires
*Cop suspension
*Cop shocks
*It's a model made before electric column lock, so it will steer when you need it to.

question: did all 93 vettes have the 40th logo on them? I thought only the anniversary models had the 40th badge as I have not noticed a 93 with that badge unless it was an anniversary model.
enquiring minds want to know.

Very clean? $6-7k tops. This would have to be very clean. 6M or auto makes a big difference. a low mileage car with the right options and a lot of TLC showing could be worth a bit more. This looks like a fixer-upper, worth $2000-$3500.

Genius i say, Genius.
With that badge you could drive down the highway a 120 mph and pass cops. Once they saw you were an official Police Interceptor they would just leave you be. Heck they might even join you.

Also they were out of their jurisdiction. I finally caught up with them, shopping at FinFeathersFur. Let one of us try that......

Only the 40th Ruby red 93's (Anniversary edition) had the 40th badge's. All 93's had 40th on the seats.
