Default another 89 I'm looking at

My search for a good C4 in my area continues. Any thoughts on this one, folks, before I go look at it? Appreciate all the guidance. Getting much smarter the more I look. Also any thoughts on buying from a dealer v. private party. Dale

Looks nice, although I'm partial to my 1990's cockpit to the earlier C4's

I believe you will get a better deal with a Private Party rather than a Dealer every time!

Car looks good, but in pictures anything looks good, I bet worth a drive over to check it out. Look closely at tires, for date, or cracks, or damage.
If you are getting from dealership, I would demand a full warranty for at least 90 days, incase you drive it away, and find mechanical failure these car's are expensive to up keep. Again check the fluids to see how clean they are, from transmission to oil, and master cylinder.
It has after market radio, that was the first thing I did when I bought my 89 back in 1994, hated the original.
It's black and easy to see if the paint is fading or clear coat peel.
Good luck.
Ask for Carfax report.

great color combo hard to find
as said go drive it try all the lectronics make sure the ac gets cold and stays that way. Drive it long enough to see if the temps are steady, no misses etc ..these cars are getting old & beat so a primo one thats local may be worth paying another grand or so over the usual CL roaches

Make sure its not a flood car with a rebranded title

Called the dealer this am. A mom and pop dealer here. Said car was out for a couple days at a local shop getting some minor mechanical work done and they would call me when it was back. They would give me first shot at the car. LOL. They specifically said it was acquired locally, no flood damage and they would furnish a carfax. I did a search with vehiclehistory.com and it shows no accidents. Does show a couple outstanding recalls from years ago. told them I would require a prepurchase inspection...on my dime. Dealer wasn't excited about that and said all their cars carry a 3 mo/3000 mi warranty. I'll take a look at the car when I can...pics do look good. Thanks all.

Looks like a nice with low miles. I would have a mechanic give it a thorough inspection. Good luck!

That looks pretty nice, just check that the climate control is working properly and the heater core is not plugged up. I would also check to see if the speakers were replaced when the head unit was, or if they are the original Bose units. Weatherstripping is also a very expensive fix on these cars. Good luck, keep us posted.
