Ive bought a couple of C4s and catch myself in the C4 for sale section too often. If I bought a bubble butt Vette I would go for an FRC or Z, those are sexy.

I've owned a 92, a 94 and now an 02 Vert...

Assuming you think BOTH are beautiful looking...(and they are)

If you want more of a "Sports Car" feel while driving - stick with a C4
If you want a Sports Car type cockpit - stick with a C4
If you prefer more of a "classic" look - stick with a C4
If you want speed - go with a C5
If you want handling - go with either but I lean towards C5
If you plan to commute in your Vette - go with a C5
If you want comfort / ease of getting in & out - go with a C5
If you want to gets parts easier - go with a C5
If you want to turn heads - go with either (but I get a few more compliments with my C5 than I did with my C4's)

I absolutely loved loved loved my C4's - I regret selling them everyday...until Im driving my C5...then I fall in love all over again.

Go drive a C5 - the choice will be obvious to you the second you drive them...Good Luck!

Had a 99 FRC it was good. My only dislikes were the noisy run flat tires & the large seats that to me were reminiscent of 60's GM buckets. I needed a 5 point harness to keep my skinny **** planted = missed the C4 sport seats.

Have been told that the "swale" in the FRC roof helps with down force, could be the car was planted during triple digit runs.

Have had more ladies start a conversation when I drive the Mrs. 95 XJS drop top than any Vette I have owned.

ive tried justifying that it makes more sense to buy this car than a zr-1. Ive had 3 l98's and love them. so simple. the crazy thing is that this c5 which is in impeccable condition is less than a zr-1.

there is something about the stance of the c4 if lowered 1" with updated rims that i cant beat.

In your area, is that cheap? If so, why are you getting such a deal? Still, can you bring it somewhere trustworthy for a PDI?

I'm looking at my area for a white 98 C5 and it is worth $8500-12000 private party and $6500-9300 trade in according to KBB. So if my car were to drive off a cliff tomorrow and it is as you say, impeccable, I'd ask you for his address and "check it out for you", come back and say it is a POS if it passed my checks. IF I bought yet another car without getting rid of some of what we have, the wife will be so pissed that I'd be sleeping in it for a long while till she cooled off.

ZR1 had a unique motor so maybe that is why it is so expensive? Because it is rare?

As mentioned, I can't have another thing in the already full garage and driveway unless I get rid of another thing that is there so it wasn't me that sniped you.

I was trying to convince the wife that we should buy this one but she's not going for it. Looks like a good deal for someone.

Assuming it will pass a PDI and he goes down a little if he were in my area, it might not be the worse thing to get. OTOH, the OP might look into shipping it to him after a passed PDI.

z06's out there for 15k with that kind of miles. Even on this board there are some times.

C5's are out of style, c6's are out of this world prices IMO.

Now I see some people hyping teh c6 motor over the newer ones for building though so that might really make the c6 stay strong for a long time.

In a couple years, the C6 might be down in price. I'd probably look for a higher mileage one so I can put in what I want and not feel such a financial pinch.

Love my C4 but it's like climbing sideways out of a bathtub.

Here's another one from down south. More mileage and would have to check for flood damage but the price is down low. I know phone number is wrong should be 985 area code instead of 995.

Got an elderly man down the street that was interested in my 92. Going to swing by and see if he wants a test drive. If I can get $12k, it's gone....... Either a C5 or C6 will be next on the bucket list..

I'd never by a black vet myself, that's just me.

Tell him you'd include a short stick for him to beat the women off when he drives it.

Personal preference or is it paint related? I heard certain colors are hard to blend in when doing body work but not sure
