IMO C4's were built for the infamous MILENNIALS.
Kind of new age, cheap insurance, low maintenance body, enough safety gadgets on some to keep a person feeling protected, always getting bashed.

Although Millennial characteristics vary by region, depending on social and economic conditions, the generation is generally marked by an increased use and familiarity with communications, media, and digital technologies

I'm kinda struggling with this one. At 16, 15 actually my first car was a 63 MG Midget. Nothing I hunted for it was a hand me over car. I spend a long winter cleaning and body work, and dash. SOB if I didn't even get new generator brushes over the counter at the parts counter in 78'. walked miles to spend any $5 I had on bondo and primer. Those where the days. It ran until I placed the bolt style oil cap on badly and it had an aortic aneurysm all over the high auto shop floor. I drove the car before I had my actual license and one day a cop looking pensively only asked for my registration once. Anyways. Evan you sound very precocious which is nice and all. But you need to assess how responsible it would be to get the cheapest c4 out there given your lack of preparedness. My own kids are just starting driving and I will tell you, the oldest almost got his 2nd suspension of 90 days. But that didn't stop the accident to the corolla he t-boned from happening. So moral to the story. A car is a LOT of responsibility today and there are MAJOR pitfalls. There will be a point where the the chasm between a teen dreamer as yourself and hardened enthusiast crowd at your fingertips will just not be able to fix things, and there you are at the I told you so stage.
Not trying to be mean, just sharing my own experience. If you love cars as much as you seem to, you have a Long way to go before you can support a decent ride and not a lawn ornament. Learn about cars, go a tech school. learn from kids your own age, that will get you reality check for a lot less waste, and you will come out with some more knowledge and self-reliance that you need at this point. C4s will be out there for a long time to come. Sometimes you just have to admire from a distance.
From a Dad who is only giving advice I would give any kid.
