Default what to do, what to do, buy a 84 auto?

Have a friend that has a 84 auto. It will not start and he has thrown a bunch of parts at it, I mean a bunch. He wants 2K for it and its in pretty decent shape. Its the same color as my 86 so kinda got my interest, Views, comments, thoughts? Yes, I know my way around a wrench but am getting older and now its kinda a pain in the *** to do so. trying to get a kid up the street to turn him into a gear head, lol, I walk with a cane and am 67. BUT I have always loved a corvette, well since I drove my first one back in 1966 and it was a 61 fuelie. Instant love.

Worst case is you have a 2k parts car. Not too bad if it's in otherwise decent shape.

That would be a strong pass in my opinion.

If you want it as a driver for local use, buy it. I'm 69, had an '84 for over 10 years and only let it go because I was offered "way too much money" for it. Really, what mechanically can go real wrong? They are practically pick up trucks excepting the dash. If the dash works... go for it!

My honest opinion is there are tons of 2k c4s out there not working.

There are also a ton of 4k that are working great.

IMO you have one to wrench if you WANT not NEED to. That sounds like a better situation to be in.

I will put a 2k parts list together of mods for your current car if you can't find ways to blow money on it. LOL

Kart.

You can make the 2k back on all the "pretty good shape" parts that you'll be able to sell.
