1989 Vert. I was replacing a broken clip on my blend door and found this rolling around inside the interior heater core box.

Burning Brakes
The evaporator drain tube on my 88 coupe is about 1 inch in diameter. It's made of very pliable rubber.
Is that thing rubber or hard plastic?

It's the side defroster diverter duct. Belongs in the hole in the middle of the heater core housing. The hole is behind a round tube on the housing held by 2 screws.

the drawing is from a 92 manual.
T think this is what you would have in an 89. Part should go in the big hole. Problem comes when installing the duct, it can push it through.
