Default manually opening headlight doors

When my headlights don't open with the headlight switch, I found if I loosen the manual ****, turn the headlights off then back on again they open. Can the manual **** keep them from opening if the **** appears tighter as opposed to turning more freely?

Try cleaning the terminals with electrical contact cleaner, sometimes it heps provide the extra voltage to operate the headlights.

I had that problem in the past and there were the crumbled bushings inside the gear mechanism.

Like he said, clean all connections first and good luck.

Can you see if the motor is even getting the signal? If not, the module may be at fault.

When you use the switch and they don't flip open, do you hear the motor running for a few seconds anyway? If no then I'd agree it may be the electrical connection. If you do hear the motors trying to run then my bet would be on the gears and/or pellets inside being trashed. In that case rebuild the headlight activation mechanism. It may be you have a gear with some worn teeth and using the manual **** a little bit moves it just enough to get it to a slightly better set of teeth.
