Think the C4 isn't iconic?

And yeah, it was kinda cool to turn around and see a little C4 in there!
Even Mrs. Confab caught it.. She's like: "Is that what I think it is?"
lol.
We'll have to all circle the place with torches and pitchforks hanging out of the targa till they fix those wheels, though.

and I thought it was pretty cool when I first saw it. I wonder if it is making its way into different regions as changes to the pumps are being made.
I live just outside Akron Ohio, so you know it has been here a while.

American sports cars should be a little boxy, imo.. C4 was the last vette that fits that bill.

I saw the same thing on some pumps around here in Long Island, NY. Pretty cool.

The C4 is instantly recognizable as a Corvette by the average-aged gasoline purchaser. The C7 abandoned too many of the "iconic" styling cues that make a Corvette recognizable as a Corvette. 4 years on, I still misidentify a C7 as a "Ferrari" about 1 of 3 times when it approaches head on with the DRL's illuminated.
I saw the wheels too, but I think they had to do it that way because of screen resolution restrictions. But they could have tried a crude A-Mold. Would have been mo bettah'. Edit thought: I wonder if the obviously "wrong" wheels are a ploy to avoid copyright infringement by GM Legal? GM is pretty aggressive at pursuing Copyright and licensing issues.

Once GM got away from the flip headlights it took a lot away from the brand as a whole. My C4 doesn't just get looks by the people I pass by it get's long stares. On more than one occasion I can see people mouth, " Wow, Look at that Vette. That makes me feel so good. My Vette is nothing special. It's a stock C4 with headers and a Magna-flow exhaust, chrome wheels and a fresh paint job. Whenever I'm in a parking lot and start the car at night I always look around to see if someone is walking by. I have noticed when I turn the headlights on and they flip up in that special way that is unique to the C4 I always get big smiles from those people. Man or woman. The younger generation really appreciates them. Those lights were a trademark of an iconic brand. The C2. C3, & C4 are so well known by the masses. The C5 and C6 aren't terrible. I have seen quite a few nice ones. But in some strange way, I feel like they were footnotes when it comes to the overall brand. There was a considerable backlash when the C6 didn't have the flip up headlights. Also, when considering those 2 generations combined are 14 model years were the C4 was 12 model years, and the C3 was 14 model years too. Some might argue they were 15 years. It also helps a great deal that the C7 overall is such a great damn Corvette. Plus, the years those C5 & C6 Corvette's were produced weren't good years as a whole for GM. Combine all that and The C5 and C6 become forgettable and regrettable. I follow C4 prices pretty closely and what I have found the past 2 years is that you are seeing less junk on the market and nicer, complete cars with prices that are creeping up while the early C5 prices are edging down. Pretty soon the C5 will be a bargain basement buy. If I had the room I would pick up a 40th-anniversary edition.

Large companies get inflexible and stupid sometimes. I think it would be the case here because it's not like they're selling branded merchandise.. It's more like they're honoring the C4's instantly recognizable status. So, if the decision were mine? I'd let it go..
But.. They might not.

Maybe others feel as I do? There's just something unique to it.

From a practical standpoint, I'm able to turn the front wheels and step in behind them for maintenance.. Oh! It makes everything so much easier.
It's a feature I just love on every level. But, I'm sure it ads complexity and expense from GM's standpoint.
Then again, so does making a flagship hot rod in the first place.
I would kept it, but that's just me.
