Default Stock 1995 / 1996 C4 exhaust system photos

I'm pulling the trigger to buy a 1996 C4 with the LT1 engine. The car has Magnaflow mufflers which produce a low and mean growl. They were already on the car when this owner bought it. I'm going to have the car lifted up soon to look underneath, but wondered what does a stock exhaust system look like. I wanted to know if any other part of the exhaust was modified, since the seller did not install the exhaust himself. Any pics out there showing the complete stock exhaust under a 1996 C4 LT1? Thanks.

the stock system is one giant piece from in front of the resonator to the exhaust tips. (about 8 ft. long) it will be easy to see what was cut to install the magnaflow system

So after the exhaust manifolds, each side pipe flows down to the separate stock cats, then the single resonator, then the rear mufflers.

Default Quieting down...

What would be the best way to slightly quiet down a load exhaust with aftermarket Magnaflow mufflers, other than going back to stock? Replace the mid resonator with a slightly longer one (if it will fit), install another short resonator on each side after the stock one, or???

There are no slightly longer central resonators that will fit. Nor is there room for "additional" resonators

I hate to say this ...... but for a dual exhaust LT1 like you and I have there are only two systems that have proven themselves over the years to not be obnoxious with drone:

1)The lovely looking (and many people feel sound just great) Corsa system.

2)The complete stock system.

One other thing that you can consider retain the stock exhaust (they are relatively inexpensive if you find one) and invest in a set of long tube headers

Have any of you used the sound deadening foam material for the floor and cargo areas? This could get rid of a small amount of extra noise.

Sound deadening/foam will not help.

If you are interested I have a 96 LT4 exhaust I'm willing to part with. I'll be at Laguna Seca in July and can install it for you.

Thanks for the reply and offer, however once I have my '96 Vette I'll mostly be driving it as a weekend/holiday cruiser car, not for trips over 150 miles.

Why? Just get that 100 mile AAA coverage and enjoy. People drive alot further than 150 miles
