want black g.s. rims for my 86
hello, I love the look of the grand sport black 5 spokes. I own an 86. I'm not up to speed on offsets etc. Can someone help me figure out or suggest wheel and tire sizes that will work or if you or know of someone or somewhere I could make a purchase. thank you in advance.

I had black GS rims on my white 86, originally from AFS Wheels.
You will need the 36mm offset wheel for the 17x9.5, otherwise you will need an adapter.

I have AFS wheels on my 86. They are the black grand sport. The polished lip is bigger on the after market wheels. Pologreen1 is correct on the 36mm offest. I have had the wheels for 14 years and they still look great.

The GS-style 17x9.5" wheels in the correct 36mm offset can be found on eBay (OEWheels or AFS Wheels). Use a 275/40-17 tire; that size is nearly identical to the OEM 255/50-16 tire so the speedo and odometer won't be affected. This combo of wheel and tire fits fine and won't have any sort of fitment issues.
Here's my old '87 with AFS wheels.

Just put a set of Black G.S. wheels on my 85. To my knowledge these are the actual G.S. offset with 56 mm up front and 50 mm in the rear. Currently running a 1" adapter upfront and 1.25" in the rear (had them already for wheels used for racing) with no issues. May consider adjusting the rear to 1" as well, not sure yet.
Front: 275/40R17 (17x9.5)
Rear: 315/35R17 (17x11)

thank you so much for sharing your pic. It's the first silver on chrome that I've seen and now I'm torn...
My vision for my 86 is to add rally stripes in matte black and the black g.s. rims...
the car has the original grey interior which could use some TLC. I have thought about changing carpet and seats to black but still might want to keep it original...
Now I'm rethinking everything lol!
I am going to do some performance upgrades over the winter such as Throttle body, cam, headers and clean and polish the intake so Iwill probably also paint the valve covers, tunnel matte black.
Thanks again.
your car is very very nice nice
