IDK why the C4 isn't a more popular base for proper kits. Factory 5 uses Fox body 'Stangs and C5's for their kits. A C4 suspension w/a decent tube steel frame would be awesome. And cheap.

search Lister Corvette. Rebodying was somewhat popular until the mid sixties.

The one thing I see that would concern me in the photos you posted is an old-school body-on-frame design with nearly zero torsional rigidity. I'm sure the same could be said of plenty of other kit cars, too. But be advised that unless there is some sort of cage not shown in the pics, this car will not handle nearly as well as a stock C4. A C4 has much, much taller frame rails as well as two hoops and a bolt-on roof and plenty of sheet metal in a monocoque setup to keep it stiff, and even it is a limp noodle by today's standards. Whether that's important to you depends on your planned uses for the car, of course.

Most of the c4 rebodies don't use the frame. They will use the chassis sub assembly. If you have skills you could fab a different body. Someone the forum fabbed his own 60s European style body. It looked very cool.

I want to use my C4 as the base of a vintage style road racer. My plan is to go about it incrementally first doing all those modifications to the body to make it look like a road racer, open up the hood to increase airflow through the radiator, eventually replacing the body
