1989 Corvette 300 hp question
Hi,
Bought a 1989 Corvette...I understand they are 240 hp, but an emblem on console of
the car says 300hp? I'm hopeless as a mechanic so any input would be helpful.
Thanks!
Matt

C4s never came with such a plaque. If it has 300hp then its been modified to make it.

I don't think ANY Corvette came with engine plaques (like that). Those are just goofy, marketing BS crap that people buy and stick on their cars. My '92 LT1 has one on the center console too. It says "LT1" on it...then goes to to give the observer mostly wrong information.
380 tq from a 300 horse 350...huh? I don't think so.

Huh. Thought the one on my 84 was a factory thing. Never paid that much attention to it tbh. Still learning new things about the car.

NO C3 or C4 350 came with those specs. Seems to me, some salesman pulled those numbers outa his **** and made a graphic (a C3 graphic at that - noting the flags)
For the record...
