Z06 wheel size
I have a 1995 c4 6spd. Previous owner has 255/55/17 front and 275/45/17 rear tires. I checked the hub cover, and it only has c6 Z06 stamped on it. Without taking the tires off the wheels, is there any way to find the width measurement? Corvette newbie since 10/17, so be kind

Since the C6 Z06 didn't even come in a 17" wheel, there really isn't any way to tell what you have without more information or pictures.
You for sure don't have real C6 Z06 wheels if you have 17" tires on there.
Pretty much all factory wheels will have the size stamped on the backside of the rim.
The factory size wheel for the '95 tires you listed would be 8.5" front and 9.5" rear.

Yep, that's all in the offset. With 10" wheels and 275 or 295 tires, 50-56mm offset should work without rubbing. I have 11" wheels and 315 tires on my 96 at all four corners. They don't rub with 50mm offset.
