C beam question and clunk
1989 automatic stock
when I slow down to the point the transition down *****, I get a clunk, that seems to be coming from about the middle of the car. Had ALL ujoints checked twice and was told they seemed to be ok. Car only has 53000 miles
could it be possible the c beam is not positioned correctly and is twisting, hitting something on the car? The transmission was just rebuilt but noise was there before rebuild. More then likely, the mechanic either used the old marks or remarked c beam position to insure he put it back in same position

Melting Slicks
I had the same noise in my 84. It ended up being bushing in the rear suspension. Mileage does not necessary matter due to the age of the rubber deteriorating over the years. I could not
believe the condition of the rubber. Mostly mush when I removed them.
