2 Small Hood Supports
Mine are obviously worn out so I ordered a couple from Rock Auto. Should receive them within the next few days. Any tips or tricks on installing them. No service manual has anything about them that I've found. Know their not difficult but figured I'd ask. TIA.

I had to disconnect the hood prop to allow the hood to open a bit farther and allow me to install the struts since it's near impossible to compress the strut while you're trying to install it. Otherwise, it's pretty straight forward.

Here's the link to my 85 at Rock Auto.

If your vehicle is different just look it up and they are under "Body" then "Lift Supports".

I think so, yes.. They do hold the hood up (but a strong wind would probably push it over) and they make it much easier to lift.
But the biggest improvement was adding the later model tube support on the driver's side. That thing is AWESOME!
Mine was missing the scissor bracket so I added one of those from a forum member here. It's great!

Earlies c4 had scissors, then they went to 2 small struts if they got them.
I bought a new big strut, and added 2 little ones. The hood almost lifts itself now and it is hard to close. Did what I wanted.

My 85 has scissors and the 2 struts. I'm going to see if replacing the struts help because right now the hood is a bear to open. Depending on how well the small struts help I may convert to the large strut too.

I checked mine last year, a little hard to open but turned out to be good. I also had to unhook the scissors support to open the hood enough to ease disconnecting.
I did one thing not noted, I tied my hood to the garage rafter so it wouldn't drop by accident or go too far the other way.

On my '85 the two small struts were bad. Replacing them helped a lot.
If you have a second person, it makes it easy for them to hold the hood open wider while you change the struts. I don't remember if I had to take off one end of the scissor support or if just holding the hood all the way up was enough.
Good luck.

It's worth the money to do all 3 at once. I went through ebay. Might have been though corvette central on there.
