targa truss bar
Just found out that tom is no longer making the targa truss bar---he moved to a new location and cant make them there---too bad --i really wanted one for my 86

someone should talk to him about selling blueprints to folks if he is no longer going to make them. people could have them fabbed up

As I understand it, the truss bar stiffens up the chassis when the targa top is removed. However, Jason at at Vette2Vette has the chassis stiffening bars designed by a former GM engineer for the C4 coupes. IIRC, the cost is around $550. And, they get good reviews from everyone I know that uses them.

They really do what they are designed to do. It actually made the car feel stiffer than when the top was in but, it kind of defeats the purpose of the open targa feel in my opinion and creates one more step in the top off/on procedure.
