If your offended by this comment, I really don't care. Your comment is stylish and clearly indicates a lack of understanding on your part.
You are unaware of a large part of the C4 audience. Those that can finally afford to own a Corvette.
Some settle for an 84, while others find low mileage late models for a great price.

Oh man... I just noticed where you are from so now I understand your mentality.
Let's get back to the topic at hand shall we?

More than likely we would use our Floor and Tunnel II material which is the same type we used for the C5/C6 for underneath of the car. The material is a 3/16" thick dimpled aluminum with a poly glass matting that has a very aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive or "PSA" on the backside. This material can also be drilled thru for pop rivets or bolts with a washer. This material is primarily a heat blocking product and will have very little sound blocking properties. For blocking sound we would recommend a material called Under Carpet Lite and is designed to block heat, sound, and triple as a replacement carpet padding. http://designengineering.com/under-c...on-insulation/ .
Thank you for your feedback,

Hi,
I'm looking for some feedback on the C4 Corvettes. Do the center consoles get hot like they do in the C5 and C6 Corvettes? Does it warrant DEI looking into making a transmission tunnel kit dedicated for the C4's like we did for the C5/6's? Please let me know. C5 kit pictured below.
Thanks, Tim

So DEI is just now interested in developing a product for a car that has been out for somewhere between 22 and 34 years?
And a trans tunnel brace/heat shield like on the C5/C6 cars I dont believe would work on this car since there is no way to attach it to the car. The C5/C6 have that tunnel brace as standard equipment. DEI just slapped a layer of heat matt on it.

A lot of DEI products are universal in fitment. We have been responding to customers that are requesting materials that are a direct fit for their vehicles. We are trying to meet the needs of the market. The C5/6 owners expressed concern about tunnel heat so we came up a with a direct fit kit to help them solve this issue. We have a couple of C4s that we have access to, but thought we should get some feedback before bringing them in and investing R&D time. If we did develop a kit, more than likely it would be a material with an aggressive adhesive on it so it would be as simple as peel and stick application. We recently developed a full interior kit for the first generation F-body's (51 year old cars) that is flying off the shelves. We are just trying to figure out which kits to start off with, and since we are on this forum and have access to valuable feedback. Finally, there was a little more R&D involved than just slapping some product on a car.
Thanks for the feedback,
Tim

Thank you for the feedback. We will have to get a C4 on our lift here to see what the best way to attach material is. More than likely if there is no place to bolt onto we would use either an aggressive pressure sensitive adhesive backed material or look at an under the carpet material. Possibly both.
Thanks again,
Tim

I used your product mentioned earlier and applied it to the tunnel while transmission was out, and have to say it works very well.
I was skeptical, but for the price and a little time cutting it to fit it was well worth it. It has been on for 8 years and still looks and works as good as it did new.

Over the years there has been a number of products released that were poo-pooed by this crowd due to price, fit or just not interested.
Sad that some CF'ers here (now gone) chased those vendors away.
I for one am glad that this vendor is exploring for a fix to a problem/complaint. Makes me a visitor to their website for sure.
