Default Interested in C4 Owner Demographics

I'm wondering if C4 forum member ownership is representative of my assumptions of the demographics of Corvette drivers in general. Are you all really white guys over 35?

That is really a loaded question. Strictly sampling the board here, or the other forums, is not going to give any real view on who likes / drives Corvettes.

Touching on race is a bad move, and hard to talk about, as it classifies people. With that said, in my town, whites as well as non-whites drive Corvettes. There is a local club of Afro-American Corvette owners that include a minister a doctor and just regular people. I have an acquaintance (non-white if you must, of Afro-American decent) that drives a C4. He is a professional law enforcement member (not just a street LEO). If you look at Zip Corvettes advertisement, it includes both white and non-white (actually we are all different shades of tan unless a person is an albino).

If you take a trip to Carlisle and look around, you can get an idea of who drives Corvettes. The car culture is just as alive in ALL segments of society, sometimes though, you just have to look harder to find it, but it is there.

Probably. Most people that age would have known them as cool new cars of their childhood.

Some buy c4's for price, some buy c4's, because vette, some buy them for nostalgia.

It would be more inclined to say IROC owners are easier to put a label on.

I’m a minority who is 26 yo. I bought a c4 a couple weeks ago because it was a cheaper alternative than what I wanted to do and also my wife doesn’t want kids so without that expense why not have fun. I say drive whatever makes you happy no matter what labels society may place on you or the car.

Minority male, whose first Corvette was a 1989 Coupe, that I bought used in 1992 at the age of twenty-nine. That's the reason why I have a C4 today. I have since had two C5's and three C6's.

Well I don't drive a shitty front drive ricer and try to make look cool, so yes.

Funny story, I was at the track a couple years ago, and a guy had a t shirt that cracked me up, "Even if you win, it's still a honda."

Thanks for asking the entertaining question. To answer it....
Yes and yes.....and I wish I was much closer to the 35 end of the timeline. About 20 lbs overweight also. Makes it a real b---ch to get in and out of the damn thing......but it beats a Prius.

I'm not even sure anymore if people will cry about this, but WHY are people still calling themselves minorities if we are all trying to be the same? Why feed in to this bs thread? it is funny and I get it, I'm just a little sad to see what label people are willing to accept these days or even more labels now than ever while we preach unity we are really being divided in to more groups. I guess they have to keep the system going somehow.

Yeah, lots of people interested in old cars that WE all know are not much more than a late 70's mustang in the scope of things right now as far as general public interest goes.

The only minority in MY book is a real 1%er. Right or wrong, that is the minority these days. We are all glorified slaves working together to keep the system going.

Not sure of my real background. See not so long ago people were killing other people if they were of a certain breed, so immigrants were taking false names and hiding. Families lied and hid. I suppose I could take the fake test and get back to you. If we are talking colors I am not sure what day I can or can't generalize people by obvious physical identifiers or traits anymore

I've always thought we were Corvette owners or enthusiasts, so in that respect, we are all the same. Therefore no further distinctions need to be made.
