Pull both KS's.
Pull the heater core hose from the water pump.
Fix a garden hose to the header core hose, run. This will backflush the heater core, intake, heads and block. Flush until water runs clear.
Flush the rad the same way until water runs clear.
Close system, fill, run it. Easy.

In addition to the above suggestions, determine if you have 1 or 2 knock sensors located in the bottom of the block. They must be removed
as they are located in the 'sump' of the block. It will take great effort to dislodge the debris in the sump, either by water pressure directed into the
sensor holes, or with a wire. It is a messy job, but needs to be done.
Replace the sensors, inexpensive, and torque them to 14 ft# (important)

I think 89 has a KS but the other side has a nipple with a hose to the oil cooler that has to be removed to back flush

Melting Slicks
Installed and tucked away. No clearance issues
Another shot after completion
Removed stock WSW reservoir and installed mini unit to make room for coolant housing and filter. Tapped into heater core feed.
tapped into the HC feed. Used two 90 degree fittings. Mounted the filter housing to the bracket on the blower motor housing.
