My almost 29 year old alternator

gave up the chase. This is after I had it rebuilt, and getting ready to re-install.

My '90 alternator gave up 3 years ago at 45K miles. Had it rebuilt with new bearings and diode bridge. $100 and next day service.

It quit charging, and the rear bearing was growling. The local auto electric shop rebuilt it for $60. Now I have an almost 29 year old new alternator.

That seems like a good deal to me -- that price included the bearings?

Yes, complete rebuild. I asked them not to media blast the case because I wanted the original patina and AC Delco stickers to remain.
