How similar is the Cobalt Blue color to Admiral Blue?

Anyone want to post pics of your cobalt blue C4's? Thanks!

This may be just me, but I never heard of cobalt blue as a color for a C-4. I think that color may be a C-5 color, but C-4's never came in cobalt blue. That may be why no one has responded to this post.

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me. ;)

Well there are some on autotrader.com (early 90's C4's) labeled as Cobalt Blue and the pics don't look like that teal color. I know the Adm Blue was only 94/95 right so what is the other blue (not teal) that was offered in early 90's models?

I know there was the stainless blue metallic or whatever but is there another color other than that offered?

I think the Blue you are talking about is called " Quasar Blue " . see pic

There's no "Cobalt Blue" C4. There were many shades of blue; Quasar Blue Metallic, Steel Blue, Turquoise/Bright Aqua Metallic, Light Blue, Dark Blue Metallic, etc. The closest to the color of Cobalt would be either Quasar Blue Metallic or Admiral Blue. And by the way, there never was a "teal" C4 either. It's Bright Aqua Metallic!!!!!!! :mad

it could be an admiral blue too. I had an 88 and it was painted Admiral blue. I could have a custom paint job as well. Or hmmmm some monkey that doesn't know what the color is called. The paint code would tell all.

:cool: I am partial to blue cars. Love em. That Quasar Z is awesome. I have been browsing for a blue vert LT-4 and have only seen 1, but now I am wondering if it was original paint after clicking on the blue thunder site. Does anyone know if there was a blue in 1996 (not including the Grand Sports)? The one I saw was advertised as "Pacific Blue" and was similar in color to the Dark Blue Metallic pics on the BT site. I can't post the pic of the car I saw, but can email it to someone if interested. Thanks.

I don't think there was a cobalt blue on the C4's and I have never heard of the "Pacific" blue you mention either. You may see a certain color you like and the person running the add has misnamed it. :)

The only shades of blue offered in 1996 from the factory were Admiral Blue, used exclusively on the Grand Sports, and Bright Aqua Metallic of which they only made 357.

Thanks GDP. :cheers: Car I saw must have had a repaint. It looked terrific though. Dark blue, tan top and interior, silver AFS 5 spokes and the LT4. Great combination. If I see it again when I'm ready to buy I'll make sure to ask why it was painted, accident, etc, even though it had less than 50k on the odo. I'm not opposed to breaking from the original color (car is a driver first, investment 2d, if at all) especially if they used the dark blue metallic available in the early C4's.

Jenn- I emailed you the pics I clipped from the ebay ad of the "pacific blue" LT4 vert. Still think it was a sharp combo. Too bad not one I'll likely see again.

The car is definatly not a stock color for that year but it looks like Darm Blue Metallic (an 88-90 color I think). I think it looks beautiful, but see for yourself:
