C4 LT4 Years With Auto Trans?
What years of C4 LT4s came with an automatic transmission? I believe the 1996 LT4s only came in manual trans.

LT4 never intended for automatic. It would need a least the 3.07 gear. A "loose" stall converter would simulate a manual in neutral when automatic is at idle in gear. Loose converters on the street, means you have to press accelerator just to creep.

For the Corvette, 1996 was the only year for the LT4 engine. As stated, only with the ZF 6 manual transmission.In 1997, there were a limited number of Camaro's (100 , plus 6 for Canada) and even fewer Firebirds (29) with the LT4 engine.
Also all with a manual transmission only, but it wasn't the same ZF 6 tranny as the Corvette used.

The 97 LT4s all went through SLP. Into 30th anniversary SS Camaros or Firehawks.Their LT4 were all reworked or " Blueprinted" supposedly a little "Hotter" than the 96 Corvette engine.
