Have you any particular goals in mind like handling, appearance, acceleration, top speed, etc.?
Do you have an A4 or 6-speed? Any mods to it so far? Do you drive it year around?

Welcome.
i used to live in this little crap town in Green country NY called Prattsville.
Id suggest that you’d first do all the maintenance to the car, like replace all the fluids, check all the bushings, check alignments, that sort of thing.
you didn’t say what condition your car is in, but way I see it, no matter how nice it may be, it’s still 28y/o car.

I suggest:
-160deg T-stat & fan sw
-cut air intake lid w/ K&N filter
-TB coolant bypass
-new spark plugs & wires
-lose the spare & jack (if you have AAA)
-bump base timing up from 6dbtdc to around 8
-advance TPS to around 0.75vdc at idle for crisper throttle response off idle
Beyond these simple mods exhaust is the next area but usually a bit expensive.
My prior '88 got a nice little "wake up" from mandrel-bent front Y, hi-flow cat & cat-back.
BTY, congrats on your '90 Vette and welcome to the Forum.
