Makes me a bit sad
When I bought my 1991 coup a little over a month ago the first thing I did was replace the old worn out tires. Went with General G-Max RS based on reviews and can tell you even with the limited number of miles driven so far I really like them. The only thing I didn't consider is that now that winter is raising its ugly head I will miss out on driving my new friend until spring comes. Of course there may be short time periods over this winter when it may warm up long enough to get a few drives in.
On the happy side, every time I thing about the fun times I will have come spring it does bring a smile to my face.

I used to live in NJ ..... Now I live in Alabama, where winter lasts about 2 weeks. Further south in the Florida panhandle its like 2 days long and as our friend from Clearwater implied, down in central/south FL, winter is some fairy tale thing you read about this time of year that is in the same category as elves and father Christmas.
I really do feel for you, but you got to get out of there!

^^^^I live in Alabama too and the Corvette will be driven all year since yes, winter last two weeks. I'm currently working in Cleveland and if it would EVER stop snowing and raining, I would most definitely take her out when it gets dry and the salt blows off the road.

I feel your pain. I too just bought a 91 Corvette in early July. Took it to Corvettes at Carlisle this summer. Drove it a few times after that. Even though it's not getting driven now, just seeing it sitting in the garage makes me feel great. I love looking at it and it's all nice and clean. Resting waiting for it's next excursion.

Mine hasn't been out in a few weeks now. They've been salting the roads nonstop since the state dropped the ball on the ice storm we had. Spend spend spend spend spend...

I share your melancholy friend. I bought my first Corvette in May (low mile '96 CE) and had a great summer. Living in Michigan, winter is here and she is parked in the garage and under a nightgown for the long sleep since October. I start her up once a month and let the oil get up to temp and roll it forward & backward a smidgen so as not to flat spot the tires. Vette season will be here soon.

Add me to the sad list. I got my first at the end of September (also a 96, but a high mileage base), and got in about 200 miles over a month in a half. (It would have been more if a minor transmission repair hadn't sucked up a couple weeks of Corvette season). She's tucked into the garage too, with the snowblower already blocking her in. I, too, knew this would happen and it's admittedly more disappointing than I expected. And it's double frustrating because my daughter had started pointing at it with a big smile on her face and saying "dah!" every time we got her out of her car seat next to my car - which I loved to no end - but she stopped doing it once the cover went on. Not sure what "dah" means, except that she might have the 'vette bug already.
I keep telling myself that spring'll be right around the corner. And looking at a parked Corvette is much better than looking at....not a Corvette.
@ZWILDZR1 love the color on your ZR-1, btw...

Actually its double sad for me because all the boats are on land for the winter too. So I have no where to cruise the vette to on a mild winter day.

I'm still sneaking mine out here and there as temps hover around 40. They did put some salt down but we had enough rain to get rid of it for now. I'm not looking forward to parking it for a few months

Original Jerseyite here now living in ATL for last 3 years....
I had difficulty driving my '89 IROC around in Jersey when I was a teenager with the winters, couldn't imagine a C4...if I still lived up there no way would I have my '94 out now.
Yesterday evening we hit low 40s but I was able to go out...nice smoooooooth dry roads and it won't get much colder here then were at now.

My 92 has cheap all season tires. It's great to drive on the days where theres salt on the road, cold temps, whatever sort of things I dont wamt ro expose my c6 to.

I bought my 95; just under month ago - Nov 11th to be exact.
i test drove it x2 for about 10 min each with salesman. Then I drove it to my mechanics, which was about 20min drive each way. Dealer let me take the car by myself, but in pouring rain.
then I bought the car, 15min driv home in yet another pouring rain.
pull her in garage. It sat there for week before I had chance to drive it in sunny, dry road for about 20min.
That was like November 21st.
i put total of 12 miles on the car since I bought it.
She has been sitting in garage since then now that winter is in full swing here in central PA.
it sucks
