Default EGR deleate

You guys that have put headers on your LT1 is there any problems created when you install headers and deleate the EGR plumbing and put a block off plate on the back of the intake? Thanks Scott

Worked for me. Removed air pump, egr valve, and the hoses.

I believe as long as the valve is still plugged in you wont get any codes, so delete or plug everything other than that.

Someone else that actually owns an LT1 should definitely double check what I said.

I don't have an LT1 but I can't imagine how leaving the valve in will help. The ECM should check for conditions not presence of the valve. If that were true, cars with broken EGR valves will never throw a code.

I meant the valve (solenoid) that controls the EGR valve. My bad.

How would it work when the ECM commands the EGR and expected to have certain changes. That don't occur

LT1s look for a change in the MAP as feedback confirming EGR operation. Have it programmed out or keep it. There are no "fake out" for it.
