Good point!,in my case, maybe they wanted the instrument cluster, nah, thats broken, dash panel nope thats cracked, bucket seats, ha! no it was pure vandalism. Over time most of the rubber and plastic parts, clips, retainers relay housings etc have all started to bio degrade, and don't take rough handling well. as bad as mine is, its still a hoot to drive.

Almost sounds a lot like the guy on here who had his EOM 87 wheels and tires stored outside his house and someone actually stole those. I can’t even get someone to take a running gas dryer off my hands for free. I had to pay someone to take it away. I wish someone would have stole it. Although it was in my basement......not outside for the neighborhood to view....

Actually the alarm has a prox sensor.
The digidash works.
Not sure where the cracked dash problem is you mentioned, is that underneath all the trim pieces somewhere?
