Default factory radio and speakers

Just for anyone that's decides you want to keep the Bose system . There is a business in Florida that will repair Bose system and and year over 90 I think will warranty the components for a lifetime. I had my Bose amps repaired all for 320$ and the factory system sounds better than a thought. Got a bluetooth /fm transmitter from amazon and phone and music plays through radio . adapter plugs right into cigarette lighter.Just passing that on.

Started the install of the pioneer. The fit is good, and everything checked out. I'm redoing the panels before I put them on. PO had glued chrome initials to the radio bezel.

Might be a dumb question to ask, but how did the Sony mount in the slot for the factory radio? Did you need to buy some sort of fill kit or dash kit?

This is what I'm referring to.

I used the Metra 99-3051. It works for single and double din. For double din you only use the two side pieces

I ended up with a different Boss unit, for just slightly more this one has navigation as well. It had the same problem as the prior unit and didn’t fit. I ended up filing the corners of the plastic trim to be square (they were rounded) and that was just enough for a fit. I didn’t want to do that mostly because the piece was vinyl wrapped and due to its complex curves and multiple open slots was a really time consuming process to wrap.

The Sony is a Single Din Chassis with a double din screen as well and also has a volume **** not just up/down arrows for volume.

Finally got it back together.
Ended up with the USB in the center console. I can connect it and close it, Nav system is still fine even under the carport.
