1988- 89 air intake
I have an 89 6 speed, my air intake goes fwd towards the car front and then down
I just saw this pic of an 88 on this forum is that 88 custom intake ? seems better to me because I can suck up
water with my intake

That is a Supercharged car. Somehow, I think if you can really ingest water, where would it come from? Filter would be blocked by the supercharge so you may have larger problems at that point.

If I’m reading this right, you’re asking about sucking up water with the factory intake? If that’s the case you have nothing to worry about. Yes, the car breathes from the front, but the filter is not exposed directly to outside air or rain. The only way the factory intake will jngest water is if the front end is submerged up to about the level of the headlights.

The above photo is of an 89 Coupe that is for sale on Auto Trader out of Georgia. 6-speed, under 40,000 miles. Dealer serviced. $9,000. It was garaged most of its life by the original owner to preserve it. His nephew inherited it. It has service records to show that lots of money was spent on it during its lifetime.
Someone should jump on this as it is a possible steal. Black with red interior too!
