Yep. Misdemeanor and probation and community service and four figures in costs (by the time all associated fees are included) cost far more than $15 for all you can run on amateur night at the drag strip, IMO.

As most folks above have said, behave yourself on the roads. Also as I said back in post #34

It is time for everyone to get cameras in their cars (along with their phones). We just had the local fair haired boy, mr dui buster get hammered in court for falsifying evidence and a bunch of other felony charges because the guy videoed him with the phone.

The trumped up charges cost the guy his job so it is going to cost that city a bag full of money. The judge threw the charges out and was grilling mr fair haired boy where was all the actions that he wrote on the police report and swore to. The cop had nothing to say. He has since had his LEO powers revoked and is on desk duty. Hopefully he doesn't get to resign before being fired.

Because he lied and perjured himself (another one of the charges he is facing) every DUI (and other charge) that doesn't have irrefutable evidence is going to be opened back up.
The ones that are willing to perjure themselves, etc, are the ones we all have to watch out for and give the honest ones a bad name. For some reason, we have more than our fair share around here (other than Chicago and Philly). We have had a murderer (dumped her in the national park), a chief that is in jail (fighting charges) for killing his doctor wife, the one I mentioned above that perjured himself but got caught due to video, the one I went to school with, that got liquored up and was waving his gun around the bar/steakhouse (but got off cause his dad was a police chief) on and on and on.

So get a camera, preferably one that not only is recording where you drive but also sideways out the driver's window. It could just keep you out of jail.

And to help get the thread back related to Corvettes, having a dash cam can certainly help in court when you have to sue the other person for pulling out in front of you, etc and their ins company only wants to give you a pittance for your car. Video evidence goes a long way.
