Will need transporting company to ship Vette...who's the best?
Hello again, everyone. I will be getting my car back soon from the shop in Atlanta and will be requiring the use of a transportation company to ship the Vette out here. I have used Horseless Carriage in the past but it seems some while back I remember a thread about this and some other company was highly recommended. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Well there's on nice girl on this forum who will tell you exactly who NOT to use. I believe they DROPPED her ZR-1.

I've used Accurate Auto Transport(don't know where they're out of, ask LPE)
Passport Transport
And Intercity Lines Inc brought my friends 640 HP IROC back from LPE without a scratch.

I used http://www.intercitylines.com/ to have my ZR-1 shipped from California to Texas. I would highly recommend these guys. I would use them again. :yesnod:

Yes, a company named Rapid Transport out of FL had a driver who made some mistakes and ended up dropping the front end of my ZR-1. Cracked the floorboards on both sides. I would try to be fair in saying it was this specific driver's poor judgement that caused the problem. Not sure if this is representative of the company's work but I doubt it.
I am assuming you get what you pay for. This was a cheap shipping job ($350 from Boston to Richmond). I didn't line it up, the dealer I bought the car from did. Apparently the company he contacted, B and K (not sure of the whole name), in Texas, contracted the job out to Rapid Transport. On a good note, the company paid up very quickly; it was about $1400 to fix. Good as new now, you'd never even know it.
So, I'd think if you are really picky, go for one of the well known, enclosed carriers, like Intercity Lines mentioned above. Of course, it's gonna cost you, but it might be worth it.
